Just Waiting…
Well, yesterday came and went… I preached the Word, and still no baby. At Joyce’s prenatal appointment today, they told her the same thing–”Any day now!” We’ve practically remodeled half of our house in the furor of juggling bedrooms and thereby make space to prepare a nursey for our very first little girl. My wife is one of the most innovative, resourceful, and certainly creative, people I’ve ever met. So she always finds a way to make her vision work–even with a thrift store budget. Somehow, an invasion of vintage Hawaiian flavor has crept its way into my home.
I heard an awesome message today, on “How to Leave a Church.” I’ve never heard anyone before teach the proper way to leave a church, and the biblical principles behind that. It was awesome.
My son is addicted to trains. It’s gotten beyond cute. It’s kind of creepy. But now that his imagination has really come to life, it’s more fun than a box of bricks. One of my favorite things to do these days is to sneak around the house on my hands and knees with him creeping behind me on his tiptoes, as I tell him to ‘Shush!’ so we can hear the little wall elves digging for gold in various parts of the house. He’s convinced there are friendly little gnomes and the like that get busy working at certain times of day. It’s the best.

That’s so great! I remember so clearly you playing games like that with me, particularly one time when we visited grandpa’s old place. It really scared me though! I thought they were going to come out at night when I was in bed and eat me! He’ll love remembering those games later on. Love you age!
I bet justin would like to hear that message about how to leave a church, not that we want to leave, but we’ve seen many people come and go and feel like most of them left for the wrong reasons, but then again, when is it okay to leave? he was talking to me about that the other day.
upon first read i thought you wrote “I have an awesome message today…”. And i just thought, “well if you got one you got one”. i noticed my mistake on the re-read.
i can’t wait for the blog in a few years where you write that you came home to find holes throughout your house from where your son went looking for some gold himself. I’m looking forward to a good emergent church conversation this week. God bless.
where did you hear that message?
age! i’m glad you started a blog! too bad i think there really are trolls living in my house, but they use their powers for bad. doing things like stealing single socks and hiding articles of clothing that have just been washed. i’m glad you all have the nice ones.
